I am

I am – trying to figure out what is wrong with my back. I seemed to have injured it working out and now everything I do hurts. Sitting here trying to type on the computer hurts the worst. I really must go and lay down to rest it. This back injury is really literally becoming a pain in my a**.

I am thinking – about how to achieve a date night with my hubby . We have both been so busy in our everyday chores ( job/kids) that we have not taken the time out to just connect with each other. This week that’s my goal. Date night with Hubby.

I am looking outside my window – and I see sunny skies and a thinking about the huge snow forecast we have for the northeast tomorrow. All of these clear evergreens will be dressed in 10-18 inches of snow if they are right.

I am reading – two books by comedian Chelsea Handler . One I just started is called Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea . I just finished her other funny book called My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands which is basically a collection of information about ALL her one night stands. Funny easy read. I would rate it 2/5 its an OK read if you are looking for something easy to make you chuckle . Certainly not deep reading but I am just in the mood for silly reading. The next one I have lined up to read is Don't Make a Black Woman Take Off Her Earrings- by Tyler Perry's Madea. Can you see a pattern here, I am taking a break from serious reading here LOL.

I am – trying to put back my house together after having painters and contractors in here for the past 2 weeks. The end result on the walls and floors is pretty but there is just so much stuff that was moved around and it all needs to be put back to where it belongs. So much dust covered every square inch of the house.

I am looking outside my window – and I see leaves all over the driveway. Its clear and warm but the leaves are just everywhere.

I am listening to – Calle Ocho it is a fun upbeat dancing song I love to hear in my Zumba class.

I am thinking - about the NY Yankees and I hoping that they play well and win the WORLD SERIES tonight . Go Yankees !

I am – still here , haven't blogged much recently but I am still here .

I am looking outside my window – and I see the leaves beginning to turn into these delicious shades of gold and orange.

I am cooking – Eggplant Parmesan for dinner tonight.

I am trying – to get back into a regular routine of going to the gym at least 4 times a week. Over summer with the kids being home he routine was kinda of sporadic. Now I am trying to get back on track. Today I did a Zumba class ( my fave) and 25 minutes of the treadmill.

I am reading – A Million Little Pieces by James Fry.

I am – enjoying having the kids home for summer. Its sometimes challenging to come up with activities to keep them entertained, and I hope when they are grown they remember their simple, quite and relaxing summers, just the way they are meant to be.

I am thinking – about my brother because today is a special holiday in India that celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. I send my brother lots of love across the miles and wish him happiness and success in life.

I am cooking - grilled vegetables- mushrooms, asparagus and peppers to go with red wine and garlic marinated steak .

I am looking outside my window – and I see sunny skies and a storm on the horizon. There is s o much rain this summer that it can officially now be called the Monsoon season.

I am reading – A Song Flung Up to Heaven by Maya Angelou.

I am – working really hard on trying to over come my fear of water and swimming. Its one of my 52 goals for the year and I am starting on it. Yesterday I went in the swim lanes in our lake and swam 4 laps in DEEP water on my back. Hurray for me !

I am thinking – about my oldest son who is away at Boy scout summer camp for the week. I hope is doing alright and is having fun with his merit badge workshops.

I am wearing - gym clothes as I am plotting to find a way to get to the gym today. Have not been there in several days. Its harder to get there now with the kids home for summer.

I am looking outside my window – and I see sunny skies.

I am reading – a book called Waiting: A Novel by Ha Jin. He sets many of his stories and novels in China, in the fictional Muji City. I would say that Waiting is an interesting read if you are looking for something different. The title of the book kindof explains what its about. All 3 of the main characters in the book are waiting for something in their life. Makes you think of what you are waiting for and how life is just passing by while you wait. I am just starting on a second book by the same author called The Bridegroom: Stories . This one is a collection of short stories. I like the writing style not sure I like the abrupt endings.

I am listening to – Fallin' by Alicia Keys.

I am thinking – its nice to the Sun finally. Is the monsoon over ?

I am wearing - a pink top and Trina Turk pink and brown flower pants as I going to attend my nephews graduation from High school.

I am hoping – my son has a great time at his baseball championship game tonight.
